Since, the meaning of the Quran were also passed over by Allah SWT through Nabi SAW to the people.
Hence, now the explanation (Tafseer) of the Quran shall be the only one that the Sahabah RAA studied from Nabi SAW and passed over to their successors and thus this knowledge is passed over to us.
Therefore, the knowledge of the Quran generated from Nabi SAW and passed over to us will be known as Tafseer.
